Language learning that comes from experience
Why Poly exists
Poly isn't a corporate product. This project was born from the frustration of learning languages with traditional apps that confuse multiple-choice exercises with real speaking. We wanted a tutor that listens, responds, and corrects — patient, available, without scheduling pressure. So we built one.
The founder
Ekaterina reached B2 in Spanish while working full-time, learned Dutch conversationally without a tutor, and is currently working through Arabic at A2 — all using voice-first methods. She founded Poly after realizing that no existing tool combined the accessibility of Telegram with the correction quality of a real tutor.
Our methodology
Poly builds on three pillars of second language acquisition research:
- Comprehensible Input (Krashen) The bot adjusts vocabulary and sentence structure so you can just barely understand it — the most important lever for natural language acquisition.
- Output Hypothesis (Swain) You produce language in every turn. Only those who formulate themselves learn to formulate — input alone isn't enough.
- CEFR calibration Every response, correction, and vocabulary recommendation follows the official CEFR framework from A0 to C1.
What you can count on
